2011 Grand Tetons May

May 10 2011  We arrived at the newly renovated Jackson Airport in rain and snowy conditions. Like Lance says, any day in Jackson is better than the best day in Pennsylvania. In Jackson we got supplies at Albertson’s and then checked in at the lovely Lexington Inn.

So on this lovely day, we took a 5 mile stroll along the river and enjoyed the scenery.

May 12 2011 Thursday was a very full day in the park…with great weather and lots of pics. We had to stop at the Mormon Row barns of course, and continued around the Kelly and Antelope Flats loop.

At Slide Lake, we encountered a group of entertaining mountain sheep. As always the scenery and animals were splendid!

We returned to Jackson after a wonderful time in Yellowstone. Our last two days were spent in the Jackson Hole area. The weather was cloudy and cold but we enjoyed our time there.  It’s true, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks are America’s Treasures!  We are already starting to plan our next trip to come back to the mountains.
