11th Grade 1968-69

This was by far, my best year of High School.  It was still too soon to be worried about what I would do after I left South Western.  There were still upperclassmen before me and as a Junior, I felt comfortable with the situation.

The only exception was junior year English class with Mr. Trimmer.  We had one period each day that was longer than the rest, and wouldn’t you know it, I was stuck with 5th period English…the long class.  I really don’t know who was most frustrated with my English Literature interpretations, me or Mr. Trimmer.  It was only due to my excellent book reports that I passed that class!

Most of the class of 1970 obtained their driver’s license during our Junior year. Of course, this new independence had been greatly anticipated and being assigned a parking space was a big deal!  No more waiting for Mom or Dad to pick us up after activities!
